For the minimal amount of damage....
Okay, I actually bought this item a couple days ago from duane reade but had never read the reviews of it at first. I then read what many people had said about the product and was so scared to try it out myself. After contemplating for a couple of hours I decided to try it...First thing I did was mix the powder with hot water instead of the hair color remover liquid. (By the way, my hair was quite dark, a very dark brown, almost black). After 30 minutes I washed it out and the end result? My hair color was actually back to my natural hair color, which is brown, with a tinge of red/orange and the added bonus my hair was not damaged at all!! I actually ended up leaving this color because it didn't even look all that bad. I actually wanted it to go a little more lighter and if I probably would've left it on longer, it probably would've gone lighter. (But for those who want to actually have a much lighter color, I wouldn't suggest this method)Anyway ladies, this...

Works so much better than expected!
This product really works at removing your previous color, and evening out your hair tone so that you can re-dye if you need to.I've dyed my hair at home for years, usually with professional dyes. Last week I decided to try a new brand of pro color in red specifically for dark hair, but the results were terrible. To correct this, I tried re-dying with a slightly darker red of a different brand. It worked but after 2 days and 2 shampoos, the red was fading unevenly.Deciding to just give up on red for the moment, I got Color Oops. I bought the Extra Strength since I'd dyed my hair twice, both more than 48 hours previously. The Regular Strength is for hair which has been dyed within the previous 48 hours.I've tried the Clairol Color Remover you can get at drug stores, but Color Oops was much better. The mixture is very thin and it bubbles when you put it on your hair, which was kind of disconcerting. It does really dry your hair out, so you'll...

epic tale of tragedy and woe with surprise happy ending
My teen daughter insisted on going down the dye path, in spite of the fact that she had long, thick, milk chocolate colored hair that had red highlights when the sun hit it. I said no way, she said yes way, guess who won (she only lets me win an argument about every 30 days, just to bolster my esteem and foster the pretense that I'm in charge). She started out with very light brownish/blondish highlights. I hated the way they looked, she liked them, she kept them for about a year. She got tired of them, and got darker highlights, which looked more natural, but her hair wasn't as thick and soft anymore, even with sulfate free shampoos and once weekly deep conditioning. Dying is HARD on your hair; imo it's better for your hair and less likely to end in weeping and drama if you go the non-permanent route, with color that washes out in 6-10 washes (there is another semi permanent color that washes out in 28 washes, it's a little rougher on your hair and the color stays in longer...

Adventures with Color Oops
BACKGROUNDAs a naturally medium blonde 20-something, I'd been talked into going red by my salon stylist. I loved it, but 8 months down the road I was frustrated with having to touch it up every few weeks, let alone not being able to consistently find the right shade in the drug store (sorry, but I'm not paying a stylist obscene amounts of cash to do my hair every few weeks). I'm a beginner when it comes to color and didn't realize how difficult it would be to try to take my hair back to blonde after having it red for many months.I asked my stylist, who said that she could strip it, which would be time-consuming, damaging and expensive. The other option was to highlight my hair repeatedly over the course of a year or so while my natural hair grew back in (again, expensive). I thought, surely there has to be some other way...PREPARATION FOR COLOR OOPSThen I found Color Oops online. I read hundreds of reviews on multiple Web sites, some good and some...

Does what it says, even for green hair!!!
I had green hair and rather than bleach it and redye, I opted for this instead. It worked perfectly! I dyedmy hair purple after this and it looked perfect!

Excellent:)
I totally love this product. my hair is naturally light brown, and i wanted to dye it platinum blonde. so i decided to go to the hair salon and get my hair bleached, but my stylist told me that ,that will damage my hair. but she suggested for me to get a hair dye removal and recommend it me color zap.But she told me that it would do some damange to my hair, that it was going to leave it dry and with split ends and look orange. After doing some research on the internet i read some very good reviews on amazon, but on the reviews they said that it was a very good product, but it was going to do some damage on my hair, just like my stylist said. I decided to take a risk and order it so i did, i ordered one box, because i have very short hair, but i suggest if you have long and thick hair to order two boxes. so anyways i ordered it, and i applied it to my hair and it felt really hard, so i left the product for 45 minutes. so i went to wash my hair, i was expecting the worse my hair looked...

Works great!
My natural color is a dark blonde, dyed it black. I got tired of dark colors looking flat when they fade and wanted to remove all the dark hair dye from my hair and bleach my hair a light blonde so I ordered 2 packs of this to start the lightening process. When lightening hair always start applying the product from the back to the front. Loreal Colorzap works very quickly so you will want to move fast, it helps to have two mirrors. I like to use my bathroom mirror and the mirror on the medicine cabinet to the side. By angling the mirror on your medicine cabinet you can see what youre doing in the back.Once all the product was on my head and I looked a sloppy mess I waited 15 minutes then rinsed it out with cold water. It did leave my hair feeling dry but nothing a good moisturizing treatment wont help with. I do not recommend leaving it longer than 15 minutes.I was about a level 2 or 3 before using Loreal Color Zap and this took me to a level...

Gets stains out without drying skin
I'm going to re-purchase the 4 oz size because a little of this goes a long way, and a bottle will last forever. So glad to find this online because I couldn't find it in the store either. Not only does it work great, but it doesn't dry out skin! I've gotten into a hobby with fountain pens and decided to try this on ink-stained fingers. Works for that, too! It will work on some laundry stains, too, but there's cheaper products for that so I only use it on little stains. Still this goes a long way for the price. Oh yes - it's also perfect for haircolor stains :-)

Customer Review

Bad hair color? No problem.
I recently decided to dye my hair at home using a permanent, dark red color. Big mistake. While the color was gorgeous in some areas, other areas looked less like a copper penny and more like the wig of a clown - not exactly the way a girl wants to feel about her hair. Of course, I don't know why I was surprised. After years of dying my hair at home using various types of dyes in every color of the rainbow, my hair was a messy canvas to begin with.I went to the store looking for a quick cover-up before I could get to my hair stylist and fix this latest hair fiasco (uhh, excuse me, hair ADVENTURE). I ended up with Color Oops. I was skeptical at best, but desperate to not show up at work looking like Clifford the big red dog.I was overwhelmed by the results. Within ten minutes of having the product in my hair, I could see the dye had lifted considerably. After washing the product from my hair and letting it dry, I was left with a beautiful, pale blonde that is...

DON'T PANIC
Like many of the previous reviewers, I turned to Color Oops after an unexpected color disaster, and I am very pleased with the results. Background: I have been coloring my hair for years to cover gray. Usually I go with a cool medium brown that matches my true color pretty well. This time, I had decided to try a slightly (slightly!!!) warmer shade, on the advice of my stylist... you can guess the result. Not only did the "warm" turn out to pull a shocking purplish-red, but my hair grabbed the color so that I had purplish-red roots and nearly black tips - not a look that worked well for someone of my age and Scandinavian-pale complexion. So, I bought, and used, Color Oops to undo the mess. This is the third time since this product came out that I've used it, with really good results each time.I won't go over the same ground that everyone else has already stated - but I have a few points to add:1. Don't panic. Most really bad hair decisions are made...

Color Oops is fantastic. (Take that, Clairol!)
I was one of poor schnooks who got suckered into trying Clairol's new Nice ' Easy Color Blend Foam. Sadly, I'll try almost anything for free. Take it from me...you get what you pay for.The foam didn't...no matter how hard or long I shook the bottle (as per the directions). The bottle was slippery, the color immediately stained my hairline and did not wipe off like the original Nice ' Easy does. In the past when I got some drops of product on my sink or floor I was able to remove it, even hours later. Now I have stains which I can't remove, no matter which solutions I try. The "foam", actually a runny substance, was difficult to apply evenly. (Bear in mind I'm not a novice at this. I've been coloring my hair for over 20 years and have been using Nice n Easy for about 8 years.) There is no way to use the foam for a roots only application; in fact the directions don't even address this as an option. I didn't find the smell as offensive as many others did. As usual, I left...

Got out Body Art Quality Henna!
I have been using Body Art Quality Henna for years. Finally tired of the maintenance, I decided to go back to my natural colour. Now, anyone who has used this stuff knows what I am talking about, but for those who haven't, I will try to describe what BAQ does to the hair.First of all, I mainly used BAQ Henna because it is the only thing that would keep my hair red without any fading. The reason it doesn't fade is because it doesn't coat the hair, it actually penetrates the hair. Most people will tell you the only way to remove BAQ Henna is to grow it out. And they are mostly correct. However, I was determined, so after tireless hours of reading online the options that were mostly likely to be at least somewhat successful, I came across this. I went to Sally Beauty Supply and they would not sell it to me without a license. But they told me Colour Oops worked the exact same, so I bought it. It did nothing to my hair. I came online and bought the Effasol here...

Best Hair Color Remover!!!
I have tried many other hair dye removers and this is by far the best one. I have used this product many times on myself and different people. It is true that it does remove even black hair dye. Keep in mind that you most likely will have to repeat the application 2 or more times to get an even result. So I would purchase more than 1 especially if your hair is long - and don't forget the Oreor 20vol Cream Developer to mix it with. Also, get a really good conditioner because your hair will feel dry for a while.

Works, but probably need to do it twice
I dyed my hair black (blue black to be exact) about three months ago and my natural hair color is pretty much carrot orange with blonde highlights (strawberry blonde). It took most of the black out and took my hair color to orangish red. I am gonna do another shot at it and see what happens. All and all though, for getting out black dye, this product is pretty amazing! And it left my hair feeling soft and almost better then before!

Hair Color Remover

You can try removing the color yourself at home with an over the counter color remover, which will help remove the artificial color but should not affect your natural hair color. Once the color is removed, or is as light as possible, then you can go about bleaching all of it. There are some other (less harsh) methods of fading your hair color in this blog post: How To Fade Your Hair Color And Why You Might Want To Do That. A: If you are trying to use your natural color it is going to be much easier than fi you are removing previous color. Your best bet is to see a professional, at least the first time, and then do the root retouches at home if you want to. The way that I would take someone from dark brown to platinum blonde is to “platinum card” their hair, which is a foiling... To get any semi-permanent color to be lighter, just dilute it with conditioner until it’s the desired color. I saw a tutorial of a girl who diluted a violet hair dye to make it look like that color, but I was wondering what I could do to achieve more of a silverly look rather than just a lavender one. Q: I’m planning on dying my hair a silvery lilac color. A: You need to bleach the streaks a very pale blonde, as close to white as possible (ideally you should tone it with a violet toner to get a nice white base) and then after washing and drying, you can apply a pastel color of your choice.

Finding the best Hair Removal Lasers can be challenging, but you can obtain detailed Laser Hair Removal Reviews to help in that process. The reason for the popularity of laser hair remover units is that they remove hair permanently. Skin and hair color is caused by something called Melanin, and laser hair remover devices work by heating the Melanin in a very precise way. Permanent hair removal does away with shaving, waxing, or the use of hair removal creams. The definition of hair removal that is permanent by the Food & Drug Administration, is when less and less hair grows back over a time period. There will be a noticeable lightening of hair color and thinning of hair re-growth with each subsequent laser treatment. When the hair is in the growth stage, the hair root growth is disrupted enough to stop it from growing permanently. Laser Hair Remover devices work best on the Melanin called Eumelanin.

Home hair color removal OK, I know, I was a home color fiend myself and I’m sure plenty of you will be keen to sort out your hair woes at home instead of heading to the professionals, so let’s look at the options for home hair color hair removal... Demi permanent dye contains a weaker alkaline chemical than ammonium, and a weaker concentration of peroxide, so the hair color isn’t able penetrate as deeply into the hair, and it won’t lighten your natural hair color in the same way as permanent... Trying product after product in an attempt to remove disastrous or just unwanted color from your hair could just leave you with fried hair that’s still a bizarre color – not good. Remember that if you’ve used a permanent color, your hair may well have been lightened underneath the dye, so your natural color isn’t going to be waiting for you once the dye’s been stripped out. Semi permanent colors don’t use ammonium to open up the outer cuticle of the hair, so dye molecules don’t enter the hair’s core. Permanent hair color contains ammonium, a strong alkaline chemical that’s able to open up the cuticle of the hair, allowing the dye to penetrate deep inside. It may sound obvious, but repeat shampoos can go a long way to at least fading unwanted hair color, leaving a better base color for you to re-dye over. Hydrogen peroxide is also present – this not only has a bleaching effect on your natural hair color, but reacts with the dye while it’s inside the hair.

There are quite a few commercial hair dye removers on the market today that will reverse the effects of a bad color job and these can be found in the same area of the drugstore or supermarket that you find the do it yourself home hair coloring kits.
